Alarms

We respond to approximately 200 runs each year. The majority of these calls are Motor Vehicle Accidents, or MVA's. We are equipped to handle many types of accidents, including those involving buses & trucks, small fuel spills, and trapped occupants. Many of our members are trained in the use of  extrication techniques and equipment. We also respond to other types of alarms, including vehicle fires, structure fires, and public service calls.

Drills & Training

Our members participate in many training opportunities each month. Our drills are held every Monday night, and the topics covered include everything from handling MVA's, fires, and other emergencies, to equipment training, scene safety, and Standard Operating Procedures. In addition to drills, many courses are available through the Orange County Fire Training Center free of charge to our members. Courses include everything from basic fire recruit training (Scene Support Ops, Firefighter 1) to advanced classes in fire suppression, rescue, and other firematic specialties.

Mutual Aid

The New Hampton Fire Company also works closely with surrounding departments to assist in performing our duties. We may respond to other departments in the area to provide assistance in handling emergencies. In addition, we may request other departments to provide additional resources at an emergency in our district. This ensures that at any given point in time, an emergency can be handled effectively & professionally with all the tools, equipment, and manpower necessary to perform our duty.

Community Involvement

The volunteer fire service is very dependent on it's community. Often the entire department is made up of residents of the fire district they belong to. We are very dedicated to giving as much back to the community as possible. In addition to providing our emergency services, we also host several events each year that provide the community with an opportunity to meet the men & women that give their time and effort. Easter egg hunts, Santa Clause visits, and Fire Prevention Week are just some of the events the Company hosts to reach out to the community. All events are provided free of charge.

We need your help!

The New Hampton Fire Company provides all it's services and events free of charge. The men & women who serve the department are all-volunteer, and recieve no compensation for the time and energy they give. Without the support of our community, we would be unable to provide this service. We ask that you show your support in any way possible. Donations are always welcome, and can be mailed to the address below. In addition, we host many fundraiser events, including plant sales, Christmas tree sales, and calender drives. Please visit us at these fundraisers and help those who serve continue their service. In addition, if you would like to become a member of our company, please call the firehouse at 845-374-2111 to request an application.
